MyGigRig was developed out of necessity. I use an extensive keyboard setup for professional gigs and concerts. While I was treated for cancer a couple of summers ago, lifting and moving musical equipment became impossible. I developed MyGigRig to assist me with moving my equipment in order to keep performing. I welded a heavy steel keyboard stand with wheels that allowed the easy transport of my musical gear from my car to the stage and back. My son Matt saw my contraption and laughed! He put his mechanical engineering degree to work and redesigned my idea into a beautiful functional product.
MyGigRig folds to 5 inches wide, weighs approximately 23 pounds, is made from aluminum and is on heavy-duty 4” wheels for easy mobility. I have incorporated the options of attaching a microphone stand as well as a music stand that can be easily adjusted. MyGigRig holds a dual manual B3 organ and a third keyboard on the upper tier. I simply unfold the keyboard stand at my vehicle, place my keyboards on MyGigRig and wheel my entire setup to the performance area by pushing it. I leave my heavy Anvil cases in the vehicle. There is a lower shelf option available that mounts on the lower crossbar. This provides additional space to carry heavy gear (amps or small public address aystem).
